Delhi - Patna - Nalanda - Rajgir - Bodhgaya -  Varanasi - Agra - Jaipur - Aurangabad - Mumbai (14 Days)

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

Assistance on arrival by our representative at Delhi International airport, you will be assisted & transfer to hotel in Delhi, relax & overnight in Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi

After breakfast take a sight seeing tour of Old & New Delhi.
Morning visit Old Delhi: The important places in Old Delhi include the majestic Red Fort, the historical Chandni Chowk and if time permits you can visit Raj Ghat the Memoir of Mahatma Gandhi.
Afternoon visit New Delhi visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan, the one-time imperial residence of the British viceroys; the India Gate, a memorial raised in honour of the Indian soldiers martyred during the Afghan war; the Laxmi Narayan Temple, built by the Birlas, one of India’s leading industrial families; Qutab Minar, built by Qutub-ud-din Aibek of the Slave Dynasty; and the lotus-shaped Baha’i Temple. Day 3: Delhi – Patna (by Air) – Bodhgaya (Enroute Rajgir – Nalanda) (180 kms 5 hours)

After an early breakfast checkout and drive to the domestic airport to board your flight IC 407 at 1125 hours for Patna. Assistance on arrival at 1255 hours at Patna Airport and directly drive to Bodhgaya, en route visit Nalanda & Rajgir Nalanda the oldest university in the world, founded in the 5th century BC a renowned centre of Buddhist and Jain learning. Hiuen Tsang, the Chinese traveler, spent several years here in the 7th century AD. Here visit to Nalanda Archaeological Museum has a magnificent collection of Pali and Mauryan statues, bronze and manuscripts. Nalanda Mahavihara an institute for the study of Pali literature houses rare Buddhist manuscripts. Lunch at a local restaurant and proceed for Rajgir the ancient capital of Magadha kings. The Buddha often visited Rajagriha to retreat at the Jivkamaravana monastery, preaching and meditating on the Gridhakuta Hill. After visit proceed to Patna on arrival check in to the hotel for overnight stay. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 4: Bodhgaya

Morning after breakfast take a sightseeing tour of the city visiting Mahabodhi temple, Bodhi tree where Lord Buddha received Enlightenment, shrine opposite the Bodhi Tree known as Animeshlochan Chaitya or the place of 'Unwinking Gaze','Cankamana', shrine of Jewel House, place where buddha conversed with Brahma under the Ajapala Nigrodha tree, Lotus pond or Mucalinda tank, foot of tree Rajayatana where two merchants Tapussa and Bhallika became Buddha' first disciples. Later visit Mahakala (Dungeswari) cave, Bodhgaya located 12 kms from the main town of Bodhgaya. The Vajrasana, Bodhgaya is also known as "the Navel of the Earth" (puthavinabhim) or "the Victory Throne of all Buddhas" (sabba buddhanam jayapallankam). The Vajrasana is the place where Lord Buddha achieved divine knowledge, light, wisdom, understanding and vision. After visit day is free for individual activities. Overnight at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast)

Nirvana Temple - Kushinagar

Day 5: Bodhgaya - Varanasi (190 kms 4 hours)

Morning after breakfast check out and drive to Varanasi en route visit to Sarnath, where Lord Buddha gave his first sermon to the five holy men; visit at Dharamrajika Stupa The 110 ft tall Dhamekh Stupa marks the place where Buddha preached first sermon., also visit to Archaeological museum, Ashok Pillar with 4 lions, built in 3rd Centaury BC. The four-lion capital was adopted as the emblem of the modern Indian republic. After visit continue drive to Varanasi, on arrival transfer to the hotel. Evening take a boat ride on the River Ganges and see the various Ghats with people ritually cleansing their sins. While on the boat you will also see the cremation ceremonies of dead bodies as per Hindi Rituals. Later drive back to hotel for overnight.  (Meals: Breakfast)

 

Day 6: Varanasi - Agra (By Overnight Train at 2230 hrs)

Early morning boat ride on the Ganges at dawn when it is full of pilgrims is an amazing place to witness the living traditions of one of the world's oldest and most important religions. Thereafter, return to hotel for breakfast. Later in the morning visit Sarnath Temple - 5 miles out of Varanasi. Sarnath is one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the world, where Buddha preached his first Sermon in 590 BC. Sarnath has a fine Museum filled with sculptures found at the site. After breakfast take a sightseeing tour of the city visiting the Bharat Mata temple with a big relief map of India in marble, Durga temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir, Banaras Hindu University. In the evening visit to the most famous temple is the Kashi Bishwanath or Golden temple which, though off-limits to non-Hindus, can be seen from the top floor of the old house opposite it, strolling in narrow lanes of the colorful bazaar of ancient city. After dinner checkout & transfer to airport to board the full airconditioned train for Agra at 2230 hrs, overnight in the train in Private Compartments. (Meals: Breakfast) Taj Mahal - Agra

Day 7: Arrive Agra

Assistance on arrival in Agra at 0800 hrs, transfer to hotel. Time free to relax till 1200 hrs, later take a sight seeing tour of Agra visiting Diwan - e Am (Chambers of Common men), Diwan - e -Khas (Chamber of VIP's), Octagonal Tower, Jehangir Palace, all in the vicinity of Agra Fort and Tomb of Ittamuddaulahs. Later in the day visit The Grand Taj Mahal where you should spent some quality time, evening visit the Inlay Handicraft Market of Agra, overnight at the hotel in Agra.

 

Day 08: Agra - Fatehpur Sikri - Jaipur (230 kms - 5 hrs)

After breakfast checkout & drive to Jaipur, enroute visiting Panch Mahal, Bulund Darwaza & Shrine of Shaikh Salim Chisti in the old Mughal Dynasty called Fatehpur Sikri. Later proceed to Jaipur, on arrival transfer to hotel, day free to relax. Later in the evening one visit Birla Temple of White Marble and at the time of dinner visit Chokhi Dhani - an ethnic resort serving traditional Rajasthani cuisine with live music and puppet shows in an ambiance of an ethnic village. Return to the hotel for overnight. (Meals: Breakfast & Cultural Dinner at Chokhi Dhani)

Day 09: Jaipur

After breakfast take an excursion tour to Amber Fort - 11kms, and enjoy elephant ride to ascend/ descend this great fort. Later take sight seeing tour of Jaipur visiting City Palace, Hawa Mahal made for the ladies of Royal Family to see the Processions from this Palace and without being seen from the people and Jantar Mantar Observatory all within the vicinity of City Palace. After lunch the day is kept free for shopping or individual activities.

Day 10: Jaipur - Aurangabad (By air at 1025 hrs / arr at 1640 hrs)
After breakfast checkout & transfer to airport to board the flight for Aurangabad at 1025 hrs, assistance on arrival in Aurangabad at 1640 hrs, transfer to hotel. Evening free to relax, overnight in Aurangabad.

Day 11: Aurangabad - Ellorra - Aurangabad (55 kms - 1 way - 2 hrs)
After breakfast drive to famous Ellora caves. Ellora is one of the highly visited World heritage sites of India. It houses 34 monasteries and temples with some exclusive uninterrupted sequence of monuments that date back from 600 to 1000 AD. The temples of Ellora are dedicated to Brahmanism, Jainism, and Buddhism. It also has some of the excellent stonework depicting the legends related to Lord Shiva. Later drive back to Aurangabad, relax for some time and visit the City of Aurangabad visiting the Daulatabad Fort,  Tomb of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, Pan Chakki & Bibi-ka-Maqbara. Evening free for individual activities, overnight at the hotel. (Meals: Breakfast)  

Day 12: Aurangabad - Ajanta - Aurangabad - Mumbai Ajanta Caves - Aurangabad
After breakfast checkout leisurely & take an excursion tour to Ajanta Caves, on arrival take a sightseeing tour of famous Ajanta caves. Ajanta is one of the few historical and architectural marvels of India. Recognized as the World Heritage site today, it was discovered during the 19th century by a group of British officers who were on a tiger hunt. The Ajanta group of caves, located deep within the Sahyadri hills above the Waghora, depicts the story of Buddhism that prevailed here during 200 BC to 650 AD.  Later drive back to Aurangabad on arrival transfer to airport to board the flight for Mumbai at 1730 hrs, assistance on arrival in Mumbai at 1830 hrs, transfer to hotel, evening free to relax, overnight in Mumbai.  (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 13: Mumbai
After breakfast take a city tour visiting Gateway of India - The imposing stone archway in Indo-Saracenic architecture built in 1911, later cruise by motor boats to Elephanta island lies 9 km north-east to Apollo Bunder or Gateway of India. The island which was known as Gharapuri earlier is the glorious abode of Lord Shiva. This island was renamed, Elephanta by the Portuguese who landed here, after they saw the majestically carved elephant on this island. Spread over an area of 500 sq mt is the cave temple of ElGateway of India - Mumbaiephanta. A flight of 100 steps takes you to the top of the hill where it is set. The temple houses large pillars that seem to hold the ceiling which is made of cross beams. The picturesque presentation of the 9 marvelous sculptured panels, set on the walls are awe-inspiring. The most famous of the panels is the Trimurthi, or triple-headed Shiva, where the God is depicted as the destroyer, the preserver and the creator. Later in the afternoon cruise back to Gateway of India. Later visit Prince of Wales Museum, Afghan Church, Parliament House, Marine Drive, Jain Temple, Hanging Gardens, Towers of Silence which is Symmetry of Parsi and next to Hanging Gardens you can have a look from outside but not allowed inside the Tower of Silence besides Parsi Community, Later visit Mani Bhawan, Mahalaxmi Temple and Dhobhi Ghat - Indian Laundry System. Evening free for leisure, overnight in Mumbai. (Meals: Breakfast)

Day 14: Mumbai - Kanheri Caves - Back Home
After breakfast checkout & take an excursion tour to Kanheri Caves 42 km from Mumbai & falls inside the Sanjay Gandhi National Park surrounded by lush green plantations, rivers & waterfalls, there are 109 Buddhist caves dating from around the second to the ninth centuries A.D. Cave 3 is worth a visit, with its grand chaitya (prayer hall) and a long colonnade of pillars. Later in the day visit to the Juhu Beach & surrounding areas where the Bollywood superstars resides, have dinner at famous restaurants in Juhu & later transfer to International airport to board the flight back home. (Meals: Breakfast)
